I sure hope you all got some jambalaya, Ms. Vivian sure cooked us up an awesome plate lunch! Thank you to all who bought tickets, sold tickets, and helped serve. With your help, we sold 81 dinners! (That's $350 towards classroom supplies!) Thank you all for your support. Well, another week has gone by and a LOT has gotten done at Kids Too! We are so excited that soon we will be able to have the Grand Opening of our second location! We are loving the way it is coming along, and I know the kids are going to love it too! And it is almost time to start registering for Adventure Summer Day Camp. Keep your eyes open, we should be making announcements around mid-March. It is a super busy time of the year for us, and spots fill up fast, so if you are wanting your 1st-6th grader to attend Adventure Summer Day Camp this year, register early!! Reminder - we will be closing at 3pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 for Mardi Gras. I hope everyone has a great week! It was a beautiful weekend, I hope you got to get out and enjoy some of that much missed sunshine! We definitely took advantage of it, we got to move all of the new furniture and toys into our new Center, Kids Too and Adventure Camp. I hope you are as excited as we are about opening a second location, it is a great adventure to us and a mark of pride and achievement... and it's because of YOU that we are able to grow, THANK YOU! I know several of you have asked "What exactly is this second location going to be?", so I want to answer a few of those questions. One, it is a place for our afterschool children to call home. It has a huge room that will be dedicated to only them and set up similar to the way we set up our Adventure Summer Day Camp, which is why we are calling it "Adventure Camp". If you have an afterschooler, they will be moving to the new location (don't worry, it's just a couple of doors down, 619 Henning Drive). Two, it is NOT an overflow for Appletree Kids. It is a separate center and will offer childcare for children 6 weeks - 4 years. It will have lower staff to children ratios, have continuity of care (the same teacher with the child birth through preschool) and be in a more intimate learning environment. Of course, it will still have the same great things that Appletree Kids has (awesome webcams, qualified teachers, social/emotional development support, home cooked meals.. and more...) but will have a few more programs (like diaper services, digital child reports.. and more...) that will be offered at Kids Too. Again, it is not an overflow, your child will never be moved to Kids Too automatically. Open enrollment for Kids Too will open in a few weeks, so if you or someone you know, would be interested.... send them to us! (you'll still get great referral bonuses even if you refer to Kids Too!) Please take a minute to read the updates below, and I hope EVERYONE is planning on having Jambalaya for lunch on Saturday! The more money we raise, the more money we can put back into Appletree Kids and buying toys for the children! Have a great week! Then come join the fun, sell some tickets, cook some food, deliver some plates, and enjoy the good food and good company! Tickets are still on sale, You can pick up a packet of them in your child's classroom. The family that sells the most gets a dinner for two at Boiling Point! (a $50 value). Tickets are due no later than Thursday, February 20, 2014!! This is so we can get a head count before Saturday!  The Dinner will be Saturday, February 22nd. We will deliver orders of 10 or more. We need your help! We need everyone to sell tickets. We need volunteers to help cook, box dinners, and deliver.  Levi Strauss Day  February 26, Is Levi Strauss Day! Ours was spent ordering furniture for our new venture... Kids Too and Adventure Camp! We are so excited and plan to open in just a few weeks. There is so much to do, it feels overwhelming, but a good kind of overwhelming. I can't wait to be able to give you a brand new center! Later this week, I'll send out more information to you on it. Also, today we start selling Jambalaya dinner tickets. They are $7.50 each and our goal is to sell at least 150 tickets, that way we should be able to make about $1000! That is $1000 that goes directly into your child's classrooms for new toys and equipment. We love doing fundraisers and count on your support, this helps us keep tuition increases to a minimum. As always, there is a LOT going on around here! Wednesday, we will be celebrating National Pancake Day by having a pancake breakfast in your child's classroom from 7:30-8:00, we invite you to stay long enough to grab a short stack and enjoy some maple-goodness with us! And then Friday is Valentines Day, your child will have a Valentine Party in their classroom from 9:30-10:30, parents are always welcome to stay and help. Please see your child's teacher for what you need to bring. And we are bringing it to you again... Valentine Date Night! We will be open 6:30-9:30pm Friday night and it is FREE to drop off your kiddos while you and your honey spend some Valentine time together. Any enrolled (full time or after school) child is free, and any drop in child is $25 (or two for $40-same family). Happy Valentines and Happy Monday to all of you! Jennifer Conner, CEO                             Join us for a Pancake Breakfast Wednesday from 7:30-8:00 we are cooking pancakes for you!! That's right, it's National Pancake Day and we are celebrating by cooking a super awesome, maplely delicious, melt in your mouth yummy stack of pancakes. So, save a few minutes, get to the center by 7:30am and have breakfast with us and your child before heading off to work. Its our way of starting your day off with a smile!   VALENTINE DATE NIGHT IS BACK! That's right... go ahead, plan away, make a date, spend time with your sweetie... and we'll watch the kids... FOR FREE! Friday, February 14th is Valentine's Day and we will be open 6:30pm - 9:30pm and it is FREE for all enrolled (full time or after school) children.  We'll even take drop in's for a small charge, so go ahead and plan that double date, we got you covered!                             Hiring Now Great news! We are almost ready to open our new center! It will be just down the road, and it will boast a huge classroom and playground for our 1st-5th graders!  Any gently used toys or furniture you have around the house would be greatly appreciated. And, any great teachers you know of would be greatly appreciated! We need to find staff that is awesome and ready to take on the adventure of a new center, if you know of anyone... send them our way!
